AL3 File creation and Applied Systems (IVANS) certification process
End-to-end AL3 file creation services are delivered with a strong focus on ACORD standards and IVANS certification requirements, which are critical for carrier-to-agency data exchange. Since carriers cannot transmit files to agencies through IVANS unless they meet ACORD specifications and pass IVANS certification, the service ensures that all files are IVANS-ready and aligned with industry standards from the start.
The service supports multiple Lines of Business, including Personal Auto, Homeowners, Business Owners (BOP), Claim Downloads, and eDocs, with files structured according to ACORD-defined AL3 format to support smooth integration with agency management systems and IVANS delivery.
For policy-related Lines of Business, AL3 files are generated, which are the industry-standard format for transmitting policy and billing data to agencies. For Claim Downloads and eDocs, ACORD-defined XML files are generated from carrier-provided input files to support claims and document exchanges as defined by ACORD standards.
Input files can be provided in any format, including CSV, XML, JSON, database extracts, or proprietary layouts. Each input file is analyzed, and data fields are mapped to the appropriate ACORD AL3 or ACORD XML elements using a structured AL3-based mapping framework, with mappings and processing customized according to carrier-specific data structures, Lines of Business, and operational requirements, enabling consistent and repeatable file generation.
After mapping is completed, AL3 output files are generated using the WinSurTech AL3 Creator, ensuring correct record sequencing and segment structure as defined by ACORD. To support IVANS routing and delivery, separate, agency-specific files are created for carriers working with multiple agencies.
With the concentration of our process on ACORD standards and IVANS certification requirements, the service helps reduce certification issues, prevent transmission failures, and support faster onboarding of agencies.
